ELKHART - The Midwest Museum of American Art presents the 30th Elkhart Juried Regional exhibition, a major survey of current trends by artists from 18 northern Indiana counties and three southern Michigan counties.This year, 290 artists submitted 498 works in all media for the judges' consideration. The exhibition features 239 works of art by 195 artists.
Local artists winning include: Drs. Daniel and Linda Burns Purchase Award, "Metalurgy," copper, brass and aluminum, by Richard Lemberg, Syracuse; Paul Schultz & Margaret Forster Purchase Award, "September Light," oil on canvas, by Susan Russell, Milford; and Bradley Vite Fine Arts Purchase Award, "Flower of Paradise," acrylic on canvas, by Marilyn Kruger, Akron.
The exhibition will be on view at the Midwest Museum of American Art, 429 S. Main St., Elkhart, through Dec. 7. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, $2 for college students and $1 for students 5 to 18 years old. Family admission for groups of three or more is $7. Sunday is Free Family Day.
