Three people were arrested Thursday after two meth labs were found with children present.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Sergeants Todd Sautter and Jeff Shaw responded to lot 678, West Haven Mobile Home Park, yesterday with Child Protective Services on a welfare check. Once inside, Sautter and Shaw located a working methamphetamine lab inside the mobile home where there were three children living with their mother.
As the officers were waiting for the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force to arrive, the children's father, Toby D. Jackson, 27, of 30 EMS B34 Lane, Warsaw, was viewed inside a vehicle driving by the residence. Shaw pulled over the vehicle within the mobile home park and located a mobile methamphetamine lab with the assistance of Warsaw Police Department Cpl. Al Danko and his canine unit.
Dale E. Shepherd Jr., 24, and Brittany M. Wright, 22, both of 1991 N. CR 175E, lot 678, Warsaw, were both arrested on dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony and neglect of a dependent, a Class D felony. Jackson, 27, Warsaw, also was arrested and charged with dealing methamphetamine.
All suspects' bonds were set at $10,000.
Shepherd also was found to have an outstanding warrant in a civil matter for $7,097.01.
Child Protective Services took custody of the three children at the residence. The children's ages were 5 years old, 2 years old and 9 months old.
The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was assisted by the Indiana Clandestine Lab Team for removal of both methamphetamine labs.
