LEESBURG - Details about a boating accident Sunday on Tippecanoe Lake were not immediately available, but preliminary information indicates at least one person was seriously injured. Three others were arrested after the accident.
The name of the injured party was not available, but the person is said to be a patient at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Booked into the Kosciusko County Jail was Anthony F. Boerema, 19, of Oakland, Ill., who is preliminarily charged with boating while intoxicated, illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor and public intoxication. He is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $500 bond.
Also arrested were Kelly Carr, 18, and Jillian M. Lindquist, 18, both of Chicago Ridge, Ill. Both were preliminarily charged with illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor and were released after posting $175 bond each.
The accident is under investigation by the Department of Natural Resources.
