250 Years

I hope this letter falls on soft hearts and grows roots, that good seed will grow good fruit, in my life and in yours, that we would see the good, offer grace, ask for forgiveness, be humble and gentle with all people.
We are getting ready for a great celebration! 250 years as a country. We know from our history that we as a people have failed many times. Showing us how much we need God’s forgiveness and mercy. My prayer for America is from 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” I pray for a revival across this great nation. That we would love and honor our God, creator of the universe. Knowing that He is God, and I am not. In our minds we try to be. He is the creator, we are the created. I need to climb off my little throne and seek His will and wisdom. I am so thankful and feel eternally blessed to live in this country.
The Declaration of Independence was adopted unanimously ... (unanimously, meaning - “of one mind, without dissent”), on July 4, 1776. This document was penned by men who knew there was someone higher than they. They pointed to him as they wrote, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
What a testament to the Spirit of God, to be able to bring a group of people together and be “of one mind!”
Another thought to encourage each of us. We are, “Here for such a time as this.” No mistake. No coincidence. Purposely and intentionally. Here. What are you supposed to do? To love your neighbor, help your parents, give to those in need, forgive an offense, listen, be humble and kind.
Seek and you will find your answer.
