Lakeland Community Concert Association will move its concerts to the Warsaw Performing Arts Center for the 2016-17 season after many years at Rodeheaver Auditorium. “Our series will be co-hosted by the PAC,” LCCA President Grant Magner said. Subscription tickets for the five shows of the 2016-17 season are on sale for $50. LCCA season tickets are available by contacting Magner at 4107 E. Children 18 years old and younger may attend free when accompanied by an adult, and a 10 percent discount is available for groups of 20 or more individuals. LCCA subscription cards also are honored at community concerts in Kendallville, LaPorte, Kokomo and Portage. The 2016-17 concert series begins with gospel harpist Greg Buchanan at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the PAC. He is a world-class harpist whose aggressive style of playing usually redefines the listener’s concept of performance on the harp, according to information provided. His website is at gregbuchananministries.org Twenty days later, the Seraph Brass, a brass quintet, will take the PAC stage at 7 p.m. Sept. 30. Seraph Brass is a “radiant, charismatic brass quintet comprised of America’s top female brass players. (They’re) committed to engaging audiences with dynamic and captivating programming. Seraph Brass presents a diverse body of repertoire that includes original transcriptions, newly commissioned works and well-known classics,” the LCCA news release said. The group’s website is at seraphbrass.com I.U. Singing Hoosiers then take the stage at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. “As Indiana University’s ambassador of song, the Singing Hoosiers continue more than a half century of tradition,” the news release said. “Annually, the Singing Hoosiers perform several concerts touring ‘on the road’ and also at home on the campus of I.U. Bloomington.” The ensemble averages 85 student singers and instrumentalists from the I.U. Jacobs School of Music. A website for the Hoosiers is at IUSingingHoosiers.com Vocalist and entertainer Helen Welch hits the PAC stage at 7 p.m. April 8. According to information provided, “Take the swing of Ella, the warm alto tones of Karen Carpenter, add some soul and oodles of cheeky British humor and – Pow! At the piano, he is a one-man orchestra, his left hand often representing the reeds and strings, the right a Sousa-influenced brass band,” information indicates.
