2007 Right To Life Banquet Features DeTellis As Speaker

Posted

Kosciusko County Right to Life's annual fundraising banquet will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at Warsaw Community Church.

The emcee for the evening will be Christian comedian Mike Williams, who was the main speaker for the 2005 banquet. The annual awards will be presented to recognize those from the area who "exemplify the spirit of Right to Life" and support the organization.

Updates on local pro-life activities will be provided by Dave Koontz, executive director of Right to Life, and Jo Faulkner, executive director of Heartline Pregnancy Center. Pastor Mark Eastway, St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, will give the invocation, and Pastor John B. Lowe II, New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, will give the invocation. "God Bless America" will be sung by Lachelle Conley.

The main speaker for the evening will be Tim DeTellis. Born prematurely, DeTellis made medical history in 1972 for receiving the most blood transfusions - 43, with five being before birth. His mother was advised by doctors to have an abortion due to the health risks they knew DeTellis would face. After the abortion was scheduled, his mother changed her mind. His many complications after birth included cerebral palsy. DeTellis tells of his experiences by speaking around the country.

Tickets for the banquet are $20 per person and can be ordered by sending a check (made payable to KCRTL) to P.O. Box 1162, Warsaw, IN 46581. To reserve a table for eight, call 574-267-3481. For other information, visit www.kcrtl.org
