Posted

The fair goes out tonight with a bang - a fireworks display set off from three places on Winona Lake.

While a few fireworks were set off near the grandstands area Thursday to mark the Fourth of July, the big display will be this evening.

Admission to the Kosciusko County 4-H and Community fair grounds will be charged as usual - $3 for adults, $1 for children aged 10 to 15; and children 10 and younger are free.

Today is "trucker's day" at the fair. Most events begin at noon when the Shrine Building, Home and Family Arts building and the semi truck show & Shine registration ends.

Also at noon, Phlick 31 will perform in the activity tent.

The midway opens at 1 p.m. and Youngs to Eternity perform in the activity tent, followed by the Guitar Woodies at 5 p.m.

At 6 p.m. the Show and Shine parade will be held in the grandstand area and the NTPA Super Semi Nationals begin at 7 p.m. Admission to the truck pulls is $10 for adults and $6 for youth ages 6 to 12.

Random Play performs in the activity tent at 7:30 p.m.

At 8:30 p.m., the drawing will be held for the "Fat Boy" Harley Davidson motorcycle in the grandstand area.

At around 9 p.m., the fireworks display will begin, bringing the 2002 fair to a close.
