20-Year-Old Man Arrested For Kidnapping His Children

On June 4, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a knife being displayed at a residence and the suspect had taken off on foot.
The subject was Jason Nelson Jr., 20, of 3104 E. Wooster Road, #69, Pierceton, and he was booked June 4 into the Kosciusko County Jail for kidnapping and intimidation with a bond set at $20,250.
According to the probable cause affidavit, two minor children of Nelson's stated they were at a vacant lot in the mobile home park when Nelson approached them, brandished a knife and told them they were coming with him, and he would kill them if they did not listen to him.
The children told police they followed him out of the mobile home park out of fear that he would hurt them if they did not. One of the children told police that Nelson's mother arrived and distracted Nelson during which time the children were able to flee.
