I received a letter February 2008 from CBSC, Shelbyville, Ind. I called the 800 number, but was not told when or why I owed $20. I was threatened I had to pay, this is a collection agency for Kosciusko County clerk.
I called the local number, but the office would not tell me either. I had to call the 800 number, they handle all delinquent collections. I called and was told I had to prove I already paid. For what, when? I wasn't wanting to pay $20 for something no one would tell me when or why I owed this. I finally paid it Feb 14, 2008. April 21, 2009, I received a check for $20 from the Kosciusko County clerk.
I called and asked what's this for? It appears I paid a support fee of $30 (including late fee) for 2001. December 2001 I paid the 2002 fee so I would not be charged a late fee. Well that money wasn't credited for 2002. The CBSC collected again.
Now I'm overpaid? Well that's what the $20 check is for. The lady I talked to at Kosciusko County clerk was nice and hopefully has cleared this matter up.
I'll probably never get an apology from CBSC for their mistreatment.
