2 Women Hospitalized After Friday Collision

NORTH WEBSTER – Two area women were hospitalized after a head-on collision Friday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, emergency personnel responded to a report of a head-on collision just after 1:30 p.m. Friday on Ind. 13, north of Epworth Forest Road in North Webster.
Hill said driver one, identified as Lindsey M. Swineheart, 21, North Webster, was traveling southbound when, for an unknown reason, she lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line. Her vehicle collided head-on with another, vehicle driven by Ann E. Stronge, 74, Indianapolis.
When emergency personnel arrived, both women were trapped inside their vehicles and required extraction.
Swineheart was transported to Goshen Hospital in serious condition, complaining of neck pain. Stronge was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital in serious condition, also complaining of neck pain. Both were transported via ambulance and neither was considered in serious condition, according to Hill.
Responding agencies included Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, North Webster Police Department, North Webster Fire Department, North Webster EMS and Syracuse EMS.
