2 Wanted On Active Warrants Found In Boat

OSWEGO – Two Warsaw residents were hiding inside a boat when they were arrested Friday morning for outstanding warrants.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded at approximately 10 a.m. Friday to the Oswego area, near Tippecanoe Lake, in response to a report of suspicious individuals inside portable outside restroom units.
Officers had been searching for  Steven Paul Gasaway, 25, of 5774 N. Second St., Warsaw, and Hannah Marie Brown, 23, of 3 EMS B60D Lane, Warsaw, for some time, as the two had active warrants for their arrests, according to a KCSD press release. KCSD had prior knowledge that the two would likely be in that area and could be armed.
When officers arrived, the two had moved inside a boat on the property. As officers approached, Gasaway attempted to flee on foot. He was quickly tackled and arrested, while Brown had stayed inside the boat.
According to the press release, officers threatened to send the K-9 unit inside the boat. Brown then exited the boat without resisting and was subsequently arrested.
Brown was arrested on a warrant for corrupt business influence and was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a $10,250 bond.
Gasaway’s warrants were for corrupt business influence; possession of a schedule I, II ,III, IV controlled substance; one count of felonly level failure to appear; and three counts of misdemeanor failure to appear. Gasaway is currently being held without bond in the Kosciusko County Jail as related to his charges. Also assisting in the arrest was the Indiana State Police K-9 unit.
