2 Wabash Men Injured In S. Packerton Road CrashBoth male drivers involved in a Friday morning two-vehicle crash were airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The accident occurred at 6:22 a.m. in the 10000 block of South Packerton Road in Jackson Township, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
Kyle Thomas, 18, Wabash, suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the lower leg. Jessie R. Monroe, 53, Wabash, suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the upper leg and abdomen.
Investigating deputies determined that Thomas was traveling north in a 2005 Buick Rainier on Packerton Road when he began to pass another vehicle on a hillcrest. The Rainier hit the front end of a southbound 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Monroe, according to the news release.
Following a lengthy extrication, both men were airlifted to the hospital.
Responding agencies included the KCSO; Silver Lake Police Department; Parkview EMS and Samaritan Air Ambulance; Lutheran Air Ambulance; Sidney, Silver Lake and Claypool fire departments; and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory.
