Posted

Two teens were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Ind. 15 Tuesday afternoon.

Kiira Leeper, 17, of CR 550S, Warsaw, suffered internal abdominal injuries after her 1994 Honda Accord was rear-ended and knocked into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Leeper was listed in fair condition this morning at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

According to the accident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Leeper's car was stopped in traffic on Ind. 15 when a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Andrew D. O'Hara, 16, of CR 100S, Claypool, rear-ended her car. The force of the collision pushed Leeper's car into the northbound lane of Ind. 15 where the car was hit by a truck driven by Timothy L. Green, 21, of Sunday Lane, Winona Lake.

After being hit by the truck, Leeper's car continued off the road and hit a tree. Leeper was trapped in the vehicle, and once she was extricated, she was airlifted to Parkview Hospital.

O'Hara suffered minor facial bleeding and was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Green was not seriously injured in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
