2 Mentone Women Arrested On Meth-Related Charges

MENTONE – Two Mentone women were arrested Friday night on meth-related charges.
According to a press release from the Mentone Police Department, on Friday MPD received information from a concerned citizen that the manufacturing and dealing of methamphetamine had been ongoing at 504 W. Main St.
During an investigation at approximately 9 p.m. Friday, a Mentone officer, along with a Mentone reserve officer, followed up with the information given.
The investigating officers located active methamphetamine labs inside the residence along with drug paraphernalia. The manufacturing of the methamphetamine was in a extremely dangerous process, according to the release.
Officers had Mentone Fire Department make the scene for the public safety and hazard. The Mentone Police and Fire Department had to shut down Ind. 25 for approximately two hours during the investigation for the public safety and so the methamphetamine lab officers could dismantle the labs.
Officers arrested Eva C. Jackson, 35, of 504 W. Main St., and Mary R. Davis, 44, of 401 W. Jefferson St., Mentone.
Both women were preliminarily charged with dealing and manufacturing methamphetamine class B felony and maintaining a common nuisance class D felony. Jackson and Davis are both being held at the Kosciusko County Jail on a $10,000.00 bond.
Agencies that assisted with the investigation were Warsaw Police Department narcotics officer; Indiana State Police Clandestine Unit, Bremen Post; Winona Lake Police Department; and members of the Centralized Drug Enforcement Unit.
The Mentone Police Department is asking residence of Mentone to report any known illegal narcotics activity to local police department.
