2 Injured When Truck OverturnsTwo people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a crash Sunday when the truck they were in overturned.
The driver of the 2000 International asphalt sealant truck was Timothy Prater, 21, Kokomo; and his passenger was Evan Justice, 16, Warsaw.
According to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:22 p.m. Sunday, multiple agencies were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident.
The preliminary investigatory results indicate Prater was driving the truck south on CR 800W, south of CR 750N, prior to the accident. The truck exited the west side of CR 800W and overcorrected. After traveling across the road, according to the news release, the truck left the east side of CR 800W and overturned.
Following an extended extrication time, Prater was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Justice was taken by EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital. The release indicates Justice was not entrapped and both occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Along with the KCSO, responding agencies included Lutheran EMS, Nappanee EMS, Atwood Fire Department, Etna Green Fire Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Parkview Samaritan Air Ambulance.
