2 Injured In Monday Accident On U.S. 30Two people were injured when a car and truck collided Monday at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Van Ness Road.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officers were called to a two-vehicle accident at 4:57 p.m. Monday, according to a KCSD report.

Officers learned that Gary Young Jr., 36, South Whitley, was southbound on Van Ness Road in a 2015 Ford F350. He stopped at the intersection with U.S. 30 and then crossed the westbound lane. He waited in the median for the eastbound traffic and then continued in the traffic but hit a 2009 Toyota, driven by Jameson Devinney-Stoner, 32, Fort Wayne, on the driver’s side.





The impact caused the Toyota to roll.

Devinney-Stoner had minor facial injuries and minor bleeding.

A passenger in Devinney-Stoner’s car, Courtney Carpenter, 28, Fort Wayne, complained of pain.

Young was not injured.

Along with the KCSD, the Pierceton Fire Department and Lutheran EMS responded to the scene.

Damage is estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
