PIERCETON - A Pierceton woman is in fair condition after a three-car accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Ind. 13 and Old Road 30, near Pierceton.
Debra M. Detwiler, 44, of EMS R4C Lane, Pierceton, suffered head injuries and was transferred from Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was listed in fair condition there this morning.
Also injured was Kassi R. Kindlespark, 18, of South Koko Drive, Syracuse, who was treated at KCH for head injuries and later released.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, Kindlespark was eastbound on Old Road 30 and started to make a lefthand turn onto Ind. 13. She apparently turned into the path of Detwiler's car, which was westbound on Old Road 30 and crossing Ind. 13. Kindlespark told police that she heard a loud crash and, the next thing she knew, her car was in a ditch.
After Detwiler's and Kindlespark's cars collided, Detwiler's car spun into a car driven by Richard D. Bixler, 58, East CR 550S, Rochester, while Bixler waited for the traffic light to change for southbound traffic. Bixler was not injured.
