2 Hurt In Hit And Run

Posted
An early morning hit-and-run accident today left a Warsaw woman and her son with injuries, and police are still searching for the driver.

Brenda Starkey, 52, and her son, Wade Starkey Jr., 25, both of 510 E. Center St., were struck by a westbound vehicle while walking south on Detroit Street, attempting to cross Main Street.

Brenda suffered two broken legs and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where she remains. Her condition was not available at press time.

Wade complained of pain in lower legs and jaw, and was treated and released.

The vehicle that struck the Starkeys fled the scene.

Police are looking for a late 1990s Maroon Buick four-door sedan, with possible minor damage in front.

Shortly after the accident, a traffic stop was made on a vehicle matching the description, but it was not the car involved in the accident.

Anyone having information regarding this accident should call the Warsaw Police Department at 574-372-9515.
