SILVER LAKE - Two houses were destroyed and a clinic damaged in separate fires this weekend in Silver Lake.
The two houses were on South Pleasant Street, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The houses were next door to each other.
Silver Lake Fire Department was called to the fires at 12:44 p.m. Saturday. SLFD Chief Rob Clark said the names of the homeowners were not available.
Both of the homes were rental houses and no injuries to the occupants were reported. The occupants' names also were unavailable.
Silver Lake firefighters were assisted at the scene by crews from Burket, Claypool and Sidney fire departments. Squad 70, the county's fire investigation team, is looking into the cause of the fire.
SLFD also was dispatched to a 10:06 p.m. fire Sunday at Silver Lake Medical Clinic.
There, an electrical fire was discovered under a furnace. The fire was contained to a crawl space and damage was minimal, Clark said.
