Two people were arrested on methamphetamine charges Monday night near Lake Wawasee.

Scott Allen Baldwin, 27, of 9893 E. King Arthur Trail, Cromwell, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:02 p.m. Monday for possession of legends or precursors to manufacturing methamphetamine. His bond was set at $100,000.

The other person allegedly involved was a 17-year-old juvenile who was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Around 7 p.m. Monday, the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force received an anonymous call about possible drug activity near Lake Wawasee.

Officers responded to a cul-de-sac on Basen Street in the Enchanted Hills subdivision, where they approached two men who had been on an abandoned boat in a channel.

When asked to show the contents of a bag they were carrying, the men complied and more than four grams of methamphetamine reportedly was found inside. Precursors used in the production of methamphetamine also were reportedly found inside a second duffel bag that was found in the abandoned boat.

Baldwin was previously arrested for possession of methamphetamine and has a sentencing hearing Thursday for that offense.
