PIERCETON - A Pierceton couple was arrested Monday on charges of selling methamphetamine.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers purchased 3.2 grams of purported methamphetamine from Jason Robert Bell, 30, of 183 Brallier Road, Pierceton, in the area of U.S. 30 and CR 250E at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Bell was arrested shortly after the purchase, and officers located a 5-year-old boy in Bell's vehicle. The child was that of Bell's girlfriend, Tracie Joellen Williams, 28, also of 183 Brallier Road, Pierceton.
Child Protective Services was contacted and the boy was given to the custody of his grandmother.
Drug Task Force officers obtained permission to search the couple's residence. Inside, they found a one-pot meth lab and related precursors for methamphetamine manufacture.
Williams was preparing to bond out of the Kosciusko County Jail when she was re-arrested on the new charges. She was charged with possession of paraphernalia and precursors. Williams is being held on a $1,000 bond.
Bell is charged with felony dealing, manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $20,000. He also is being held on a failure to appear warrant from Whitley County.
Possible charges relating to the child being present are being evaluated by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers were assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and the Warsaw Police Department.
