A Columbia City couple is claiming they spent $16,000 on what they thought was silver but instead turned out to be zinc and tin.
The couple filed a report with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’’s Department Jan. 18.
While the couple is from Columbia City, and the couple that sold them the alleged silver ingots are from New Paris, several meetings between the two parties took place in Kosciusko County.
According to the report, the silver pieces the couple spent $16,000 on were tested and found not to be silver at all.
The two parties met over the course of nearly two weeks around Oct. 31 at several locations in Kosciusko County.
