NORTH WEBSTER - Epworth Forest Choir School, North Webster, will be alive with the sounds of music Friday through Sunday.

More than 150 musicians from Indiana and other states will perform in the conference center auditorium at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The school, founded in 1955 by Varner and Anna Chance, provides an opportunity for youth and adults to present their musical skills and showcase their talent during four public performances.

Friday's performance will include both instrumental and vocal musicians, who will present inspirational and classical music.

Saturday's performance, "Showboat 2000," will include an upbeat variety show with "Voices" as the theme. The show will emphasize voices of people, places and events that have shaped the world and will include youth and adult choirs, as well as the Showboat Orchestra.

Sara McKeefer, Epworth Forest Choir School spokeswoman, said all the worship experiences are built around the theme "Jubilee 2000."

McKeefer said the morning worship service Sunday will be a chance to reminisce.

Choir School Chaplain-in-Residence, the Rev. Derek Weber, pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Covenant in Fort Wayne, will be the speaker.

McKeefer said the Sacred Concert Sunday "is the culmination of many hours of hard work and a multitude of rehearsals - and features the choirs and the string orchestra."

Craig Courtney is guest conductor of the choir school musicians. Courtney has composed more than 100 works.

The performances are free and open to the public.
