A 10-year-old Green Acres Mobile Home Court boy was preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness after allegedly firing a gun from inside his residence.

The boy's mother said she was in the shower about 11:50 a.m. Saturday when she heard what sounded like gunshots. When she got out of the shower, her two children were playing in the living room and, when she asked her 10-year-old son what the noise was, he told her he thought someone shot a gun into their mobile home.

The woman went outside to look for damage and also noticed a bullet hole in a neighbor's home.

Police responding to the East CR 200N, Warsaw, residence said it appeared the gunshot came from inside the residence where the woman and her children were. A spent bullet was found lodged in a clothes dryer at the neighbor's home.

The 10-year-old then admitted playing with his stepfather's gun and that it went off. The weapon was taken by police for 30 days safekeeping.
