NORTH MANCHESTER – Hannah Wappes is Manchester University’s first indoor sub 5:00-miler, a member of the cross country program’s all-time top 10 fastest clockings in the 6K, and an individual ranked among the Black and Gold’s best ten outdoors in the 400, 800 and 1500 meters. To think … all of this quite possibly could not have happened.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Connections are and have been a big part of Chase Wilson’s life.

INDIANAPOLIS – Thirteen players have been selected for the 2018 IndyStar Indiana Girls All-Stars basketball team, a roster that was announced Tuesday.

I’m sure I make the radio station leadership nervous when I write stuff the station is doing, but we made a big announcement Monday and I wanted to use this column today to follow up on it.

The Three Rivers Conference announced its academic all-conference members for the winter season. 

The Northern Lakes Conference announces that Elkhart Memorial High School will cease to be a member of the conference at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 school year. 

LARWILL – Saturday will be the last sign-up date for the 2018 Pierceton Youth League.

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee and Fairfield junior varsity softball game scheduled for April 9 at Fairfield has been canceled due to the Lady Falcons not having enough players to field a JV team.

COLUMBIA CITY – The Lakeview Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team won the NELMSC tournament on Saturday. 

On Feb. 18, the Baker Youth Club held the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club Tri-Star Basketbal competition.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College women’s basketball guard Vironnica Drake was named the NCCAA National Player of the Week.

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee and Lakeland softball game on March 26 at Lakeland will be varsity only.

LEBANON – Seniors Hope Fancil and Jessica Slone of the Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team competed in the Indiana Elite North/South All-Star Class 1A game on Saturday at Lebanon High School.

CULVER – The Triton Trojans struggled most of the season to get balanced scoring out of their lineup.

NAPPANEE – Experience and depth pushed the NorthWood Panthers to a 55-34 victory over the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings Friday night in the semifinal round of Class 3A Sectional 21.

HAMILTON – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team lost 102-37 to Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Friday night in the sectional semifinal matchup.

WINONA LAKE – March Madness is fast approaching Kosciusko County. Grace College is set to host the 2018 NCCAA Div. I Men’s and Women’s Basketball National Championships this month.

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley High School will host its winter athletic awards program on March 14.
