Warsaw Takes Down No. 5 Carroll On Penalty Kicks

For the second straight season, the Warsaw boys soccer team’s regional semifinal match would not be determined in regular or extra time, instead needing penalty kicks to decide a winner. This time, the Tigers were able to come out on top, defeating No. 5 Carroll on the road 0-0 (5-4) to live to fight another day.

Valley Takes Lead Twice In 4th, Hangs On To Beat Glenn

Playing its first home game in four weeks as well as the final home game of the regular season, Tippecanoe Valley had to fight tooth and nail to pick up a Senior night victory over John Glenn. In a game that came down to the final seconds, the Vikings got a much-needed defensive stop to finish off a 22-21 victory.

Warsaw Battles Back Down 21-0 To Stun NorthWood 35-21

While Warsaw did not get the start that it wanted facing off against Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood Friday night, the Tigers certainly got the finish they were looking for. Down 21-0 early in the contest, Warsaw battled back, scoring the last 35 points of the game to pick up a 35-21 win in Nappanee, the school’s first since 2012.

Facing off against Northern Lakes Conference Champions Northridge for the second time this season, the Warsaw girls soccer team had its work cut out for them in order to win the match and advance to the 3A sectional championship game at Elkhart. After a masterclass of a defensive performance as well as a timely goal, the Lady Tigers advanced with a 1-0 win.

Warsaw Gets Past Goshen On Penalty Kicks, Advances

A September match between the Warsaw and Goshen girls soccer teams resulted in a 1-1 tie after a hard-fought match. Tuesday night, the two teams met for a second time on a much bigger stage: the opening round of the 3A girls soccer sectional tournament at Elkhart High School. With a winner having to emerge this time around, it came down to penalty kicks, with the Lady Tigers winning 5-3 after a 0-0 tie.

LCA Cruises To 7-0 Win Over Caston In First Sectional Game

Lakeland Christian boys soccer began their playoff run Monday evening at Argos High School, taking on Caston in the first round of the 1A bracket. The match was dominated by the Cougars from the opening whistle onward, as the team advanced to the semifinals with a 7-0 win.

Warsaw Battles For Senior Night Win Over Mishawaka

Looking to avoid a third straight loss while also sending off senior players on a high note, the Warsaw football team took on Mishawaka in its final home game of the season Friday night. For the third straight week, it was a tight game down the stretch, but this time, the Tigers were able to come up with a big stop when needed to get back on track with a 21-13 win on Senior Night.

Warsaw Defeats NorthWood, Gets Share Of NLC Title

In what has become a rivalry between the two premier teams in the Northern Lakes Conference, the Warsaw and NorthWood volleyball teams met at the Tiger Den Thursday night for a game with major conference implications. The Lady Tigers were able to keep their perfect conference record alive, clinching at least a share of the NLC for the third straight year with a 3-0 win.

Warsaw, Wawasee Secure Spots In Sectional Finals

Three local teams made up the four spots at the IHSAA tennis sectional semifinals at Warsaw Thursday evening. With the Tigers taking on Whitko and the Northern Lakes Conference Champions Wawasee facing off against Columbia City for the two spots in Saturday’s final, there was plenty of action on the courts. In the end, the two NLC competitors were left standing after a 5-0 win for Warsaw and a 5-0 victory for the Warriors.

Four quarters weren’t enough to declare a winner, with overtime being needed. The game came down to its final play, with the Pilgrims electing to go for two and getting it to stun the Tigers with a 33-32 victory to give the home side some homecoming heartbreak.

Huge Second Half Propels Concord To Stun Warsaw 28-24

One of the most anticipated matchups in the state all year long in the 5A division, No. 3 Concord and No. 5 Warsaw met at Jake Field Friday night. The first half was thoroughly dominated by the Tigers, as the visitors jumped out to a 17-0 lead at half. However, the second half belonged to the Minutemen, as the home side outscored the Tigers 28-7 in the second half to win the pivotal Northern Lakes Conference showdown 28-24.

Winners of seven straight coming into Tuesday night’s home game against Northridge at the Tiger Den, the Warsaw volleyball team continued to take care of business in conference play, remaining unbeaten (3-0) in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 3-0 victory over the Lady Raiders. The Lady Tigers have now won 17 straight conference games.

Vikings Beat Governors, First Win Over 5A School Since ‘96

Facing off against a 5A team for the first time since 1999 (Warsaw) Tippecanoe Valley welcomed Hammond Morton to Akron Friday night. The Vikings led for almost the entirety of the game, and even after a shootout of a second half, Valley was able hold on for a 35-23 win, the team’s first win over a 5A school since 1996 (12-0 over Warsaw).

For the Tippecanoe Valley and Rochester football programs, there is nothing like the Bell Game. One of the best rivalry games in the northern half of the state, the 2024 edition of the Battle for the Bell had a little bit of everything. After a slow start, a long lightning delay at halftime and a dominant second half, the Vikings were able to keep the Bell in Akron for the seventh straight year with a 22-12 win.
