Local High School Sports Recaps For Saturday, October 12

Boys Soccer
Lakeland Christian vs. Argos

For the first time in school history, Lakeland Christian soccer hoisted a sectional trophy on Saturday night, defeating host school Argos 2-1 in their 1A sectional championship game. The Cougars are now 14-5 this season.
LCA started the game off strong, with Jashawn Zielasko scoring a goal in the 7th minute. After Argos tied things up midway through the second half, Zielasko assisted Jay Kwon on the game winning goal in the 74th minute. Braden Wierick made six saves in net.
Lakeland Christian will host a regional game Thursday against Westview in Winona Lake.
Girls Soccer
Manchester vs. LaVille

A fantastic season for Manchester came to an end in the 1A sectional championship game at Argos Saturday afternoon, falling 2-1 to champion LaVille. The Lady Squires end the season with an 11-7 record.
The lone Manchester goal was scored by London Spangle off of a free kick by Ava Sautter. Cora Brown had four saves in net.
Manchester will return next season.
Football
Concord at Wawasee

Wawasee suffered a tough loss to Northern Lakes Conference leaders Concord Friday night, falling 44-7. The Warriors are now 1-7 this season, 1-5 in the NLC.
Quarterback Cameron Senter threw for 39 yards and a touchdown to Bradyn Pike. Benjamin Brace had 76 yards on the ground. Carson Nine made seven tackles.
Wawasee plays its final regular season game Friday night at home against Mishawaka.
Manchester at Lewis Cass
Manchester kept it rolling with its fourth straight win Friday night, defeating Lewis Cass 49-28 on the road. The Squires are now 5-3 this season, 5-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Dallas Martin was incredibly efficient under center, going 3-3 passing for 85 yards and two touchdowns, both to Eli Metzger. Martin was also an absolute stud on the ground, running for 214 yards and 3 more scores. Reiss Gaerte also added 64 yards and a touchdown, while Maddux Greer had 57 yards on the ground and another score.
Manchester wraps up the regular season Friday on the road at Peru.
Northfield at Whitko
Whitko is still searching for its first win of the season after falling 47-6 to Northfield Friday night. The Wildcats are now 0-8 this season, 0-7 in the TRC.
Hunter Long had 55 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Trevor Freel had 40 yards rushing, while Landon Smith added 34.
Whitko plays its regular season finale against Wabash Friday night.
Pioneer at Triton
Triton picked up a big win Friday night, defeating Pioneer 28-21 at home. The Trojans are now 6-2 this season, 5-1 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.
No statistics were available for Triton in the game. The team is at North Miami Friday night.
