Whitko Offense Explodes In 67-58  Win Over Manchester

Both the Whitko and Manchester girls basketball teams went into Friday night’s Three Rivers Conference showdown with six wins, two of them in the TRC. Only one team would leave with a seventh win as well as bragging rights. That team would be Whitko, as the team used a massive second quarter to pull away and stay perfect in the conference with a 67-58 victory.

Grace Rolls By Wesleyan To Win Crossroads Tournament Title

The 2023-24 season has been filled with plenty of highs for the Grace men’s basketball team. The Lancers had lost just once this season opposed to 29 wins coming into Tuesday night’s championship game for the Crossroads League Conference tournament. In that title game, the Lancers left no doubt as to who the league’s top dog was, handling Indiana Wesleyan 101-80 to make it an even 30 wins on the year as well as continuing their reign as kings of the conference.

Trey Eaton Leads Valley To Close Win Over Whitko

AKRON - Folks have been talking about Friday night's Whitko-Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball game for quite some time.The scuttlebutt of local coffee shops always seemed to wind back to the famous Bill-Patrick-coaching-against-his-old-school and Alex-Frantz-transferred-from-Whitko-to-Valley-and-back-to-Whitko tales. No matter which side folks were cheering for, it was touted as the game to see.And in the end, it really was. When all was said and done, Valley picked up a 49-46 win over Whitko in a back-and-forth Three Rivers Conference battle that went down to the wire. The Wildcats struck first as John Woods hit a basket and a free throw to make the score 3-0.The teams traded baskets from that point on, with neither squad going up by more than four points at any time in the first frame. However, the scoring did not come from the usual sources.

Lady Tigers Pass Biggest Test Yet, Win At Northridge

For the second straight night, Warsaw and Northridge met on the hardwood as two top-10 teams in the state. This time it was the girls teams in action, facing off at the Lady Raiders’ brand new gym. While the Lady Tigers were in control on the scoreboard for a majority of the contest, it felt a lot closer than that. In the end, Warsaw put itself in the driver's seat in the Northern Lakes Conference and remained undefeated with a 60-44 win.

Warsaw Stuns Concord 31-28 To Win 2nd Sectional Title

A month and a half ago, Warsaw football led Concord, the No. 1 5A team in the state 17-0 at halftime before the Minutemen staged a furious comeback late to escape with a 28-24 victory to remain undefeated. Friday, the two teams met at Jake Field again, this time with a sectional championship on the line. As was the case the first time around, the Tigers played a great game, keeping it close throughout. But this time, it was Warsaw with the last laugh, as a last-second touchdown gave the Tigers a 31-28 for the team’s first sectional title since 2019.
