Lady Bruins Down Whitko

Bethany Christian got off to a 16-6 lead after the first quarter, and visiting Whitko could only cut the lead to four before falling 47-37 in a non-conference girls basketball loss Thursday night.  “We got off to a slow start, which was disappointing," said Whitko coach Rick Bragg. "We had some costly turnovers early, missed our first 10 shots and were outplayed. Unfortunately the slow start ended up being the difference in the game."

Wawasee FB Coach Ekovich Steps Down

Wawasee head football coach Josh Ekovich stepped down from his position Friday, citing a desire to spend more time with his wife and young children. Austin D. Hauth, 85, Warsaw, passed away peacefully at 11:04 a.m. Jan. 4, 2017, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center.  He was born May 7, 1931, in Warsaw, to Roy E. Sr. and Thelma M. Dunn Hauth. He married Patty J. Gordon on Oct. 3, 1954, in Warsaw. They were married 62 years. He was a 1951 graduate of Warsaw High School and spent much of  his life in Kosciusko County, except for 20 years in Sebring, Fla. He moved back to Warsaw in 2008. He was a tool and die
