County Hall Of Fame Inducts Second Class

    WINONA LAKE — The sentiments of the 14 present inductees into the 2nd Annual Kosciusko County Hall of Fame Banquet were shared by 1956 Atwood-graduate Lyle “Skip” Witham  Friday at the Orthopaedic Capital Center in Winona Lake.    “I appreciate Jim (Irwin) and Aaron (Rovenstine) for bringing back all the memories of playing basketball,” Witham said during his induction speech.

Recently, a friend in recovery sent me an inspirational handout called “Time out from the River of Life.” It was very positive and describes life as a powerful river that we are born into, must learn to swim and make the best out of being part of the flow. This sparked thoughts of how true this is, and how much I really love a metaphor.

AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley softball team showed a little rust in its first game back from spring break Monday against the visiting Triton Lady Trojans.While the Lady Vikings (2-2) were on break, the Lady Trojans (3-4) played five games last week, and it showed in an 18-9 victory.

Marian Snaps Warsaw Kickers’ Win Streak

Riding the high of a four-match win streak, the latest triumph being a 4-1 victory over conference rival Plymouth, the last thing Warsaw boys soccer coach Ryan Burgher wanted to see was a letdown. Hosting the undefeated Mishawaka Marian Knights Saturday, the Tigers trailed 2-0 at halftime, evened the score after the intermission, but wound up falling 4-2.
