Early Sunday Morning Fire Started In Attic

WINONA LAKE - Firefighters responded to an early Sunday morning fire at 5 Stone Camp Trail, Winona Lake, that started in the home’s attic.
Winona Lake Fire Department Public Information Officer Mike Cox said the report on the fire indicated it started when a furnace in the attic caught insulation and truss rafters on fire.
The WLFD was called to the scene at 2:41 a.m. Sunday, with the scene cleared at 7:13 a.m. Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Pierceton Fire Department assisted, with Lutheran EMS on standby.
No injuries were reported.
The report did not indicate a damage estimate.
County records indicate the home is owned by Michael and Tonya Goodspeed.
