Todd Russell Creighton

April 13, 2025 at 3:51 p.m.

Todd Russell Creighton passed away in the Brown County Health & Living facility in Nashville, Ind., on April 5, 2025, at the age of 62, following decades of declining health due to SCA2.
Todd was born Nov. 12, 1962, in Elkhart, to parents Bob and Marge Creighton.
He is survived by his father, Bob Creighton, Nashville, Ind.; Bob's partner, Peggy McCorvie, Bloomington; his brother, Brian Creighton, Bloomington; his sister, Dana Creighton, and Dana's daughter, Kendall Baker, both of Durham, N.C. Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Marge Creighton; his brother, Scott Creighton; his paternal grandparents, Russell and Helen Creighton; and his maternal grandparents, Earl and Lorene Poynter.
Todd graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1981, and attended Arizona State University and Indiana University. Todd's main occupations were auto mechanic, then construction, until SCA2 made that trade impractical. Todd loved nature, his cats and making rustic wood furniture which he'd give to relatives or sell at flea markets. He even made a wooden full-sized cougar using a chain saw and carving tools. He sold it at a flea market. Todd also enjoyed attending classic car shows. He was a volunteer at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center, where he was playfully attacked by two 90-pound lion cubs, and had to be rescued by the owner. His clothes were shredded, and he sustained many claw wounds, but he went back to work there the next day.
A private service will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Todd's memory to the National Ataxia Foundation at ataxia.org and click on donate, or by mail: University of Utah. Dept. of Urology, 332 South 1400 East, Suite 160, Salt Lake City, UT 84112, Attn: Dr. Stefan Pulst SCA2.
