Warsaw Library Eyeing Early September For StoryWalk Ribbon-Cutting
August 12, 2024 at 8:11 p.m.
Warsaw Community Public Library’s StoryWalk project will tentatively have a ribbon-cutting in early September.
During Monday’s WCPL Board of Trustees meeting, Director Heather Barron said the library and Warsaw Parks Department are considering Sept. 9 as the StoryWalk’s ribbon-cutting date.
Barron said the timeframe for completion shifted, as the parks department was able to get the kiosk stands constructed sooner than they thought.
The walk, which will be available in both English and Spanish, will be on the Beyer Farm Trail, next to Pike Lake.
In other business, Barron said the library will begin opening community input surveys and reaching out to various organizations in September regarding WCPL’s feasibility study. A potential renovation or relocation of WCPL is being considered.
Barron also said the 2024 summer reading program for WCPL was “record-breaking,” with the library’s goal being for participants to read a combined total of five million pages. Over 5.6 million pages were read by the program’s participants.
WCPL Board of Trustees’ next meeting is at 4 p.m. Sept. 9.
