The public may get a look inside the Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion next week.
At its meeting on Tuesday, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board heard that from Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent Larry Plummer.
A community open house for the pavilion is 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 27. That will be preceded by a private ribbon-cutting ceremony at which leaders from Zimmer Biomet and local government will speak.
“This was all made possible by a $2.5 million dollar donation from the Zimmer Biomet Foundation, and what a great opportunity for the community to have this building in this condition again,” said Plummer.
He said there’s still a little work on the pavilion to be completed, including finishing a wall between the main room and conference room.
“We ... still have the lockers to put in the lifeguard room,” said Plummer. “There’s a little bit of touch-up paint (and) … a couple of ceiling tiles that need replaced, but other than that, everything’s been going well.”
Plummer noted Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory’s Family Safety Day occurred at the pavilion and Central Park on Saturday, Sept. 16.
“(WWFT Chief Brian Mayo) told me today he had nothing but great compliments on the way the building looked and everybody just was in awe of the building,” said Plummer.
