Helen J. McIntyre, 86, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, in her home.
Helen was born to Joseph and Sarah Sievers Blackford on Sept. 15, 1936, in Calumet City, Ill. She was employed at Hart Shaffner Marx clothing manufacturing in Rochester and worked for Uniroyal in Warsaw. She married Warren D. “Red” McIntyre on Sept. 28, 1953; he preceded her in death July 26, 2011. She was a member of Tippecanoe Community Church, the Tippecanoe Improvement Organization, the Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary, Awana, MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers), and a 4-H leader. She enjoyed sewing, reading, baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Helen will be missed by her daughters, Lorri (James) Gabhart, of Sun City, Ariz.; and Beth (Gregory) Weber, of Bourbon; her son, Kenny McIntyre, of Tippecanoe; her grandchildren: James (Samantha) Gabhart III, Cherish (Brooke) Mathis, David (Debbie) Gabhart, Candice (Mitch) Crum, Greg (Meagan) Weber Jr., Ashley (Michael) Holbrook, Sarah Weber, Rebecca Weber; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Viloa (Eugene) Ward, of Argos; Nancy Kreft, of Tippecanoe; Sara Kauffman, of Bourbon; and Rose (Ray) Haroff, of Warsaw.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters: Pauline Blackburn, Kathryn Montalbano, Mary Lozier, Carol Baugher; brothers: Robert, Dale, Bill, Chuck, Paul and Dean.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bourbon Bible Church, 2002 12th Road, Bourbon. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 at noon at the Bourbon Bible Church with Larrie Kreft and Mark Black presiding. The burial will take place in Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe.
