Marjorie Lucille Moneyheffer

Marjorie Lucille Moneyheffer, age 95, left this life for her heavenly home on Dec. 4, 2023. Her daughter and caregiver, Elaine Blucker, was with her.  
Marjorie was born June 10, 1928, at home in Kosciusko County to Lester and Hazel Mock Gray.
She graduated from North Webster High School in 1946 and married the family breadman, Charles Edward Moneyheffer. They were married 66 years until his death on Feb. 5, 2012.

      

Also, preceding her in death was her sister, Luella Shoemaker; and her two brothers, Charles Gray (World War II veteran) and Ledru Gray. Surviving is her daughter, Elaine Blucker; one granddaughter, Renee Chesterfield (Mark Hawley); great-granddaughters, Alyssa (Jay) Lopez, Angie Kelly; four great-great-grandsons: Caleb Rouch, Jayden Lopez, Jaxon Lopez and Dax Kelly; and one great-great-granddaughter, Samara Kelly. Also surviving is one step-granddaughter, Deanna Yoder; one step-grandson, Dana (Heather) Blucker; and two step-great-grandchildren, Chase Blucker and Kaitlyn Blucker; as well as many nieces and nephews.
An accomplished artist of oils and watercolors, Marjorie was a former member of the Elkhart Art League and Lakeland Art Association of Warsaw, winning many ribbons and awards. One year she also won best of show at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. Marjorie was a previous member of Nappanee Elder Haus, Nappanee Poetry Club, Stamp Club and a charter member of the Nappanee Library Spring Into Art shows. Many of her paintings were included in bank calendars through the years. Her ability took other forms including making flowers, centerpieces, corsages, headbands and wristbands out of wood fiber. Another fun hobby was making houses and paper furniture for her young family members to play with.
Marjorie’s interests also included watching old movie classics, listening to music CD’s, collecting stamps and playing dominoes. She was an avid reader of the Bible and books on prophecy and Heaven, and an enthusiastic prayer warrior. Marjorie was a former member of First Baptist Church of Elkhart and most recently attended Bible Baptist Church in Wakarusa.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, 501 N. Elkhart St., Wakarusa, on Saturday, Dec. 9. Pastor David Harper and Jeremy Chesley will officiate. Burial will take place in South Union Cemetery, CR 50, Nappanee.
Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church or Child Evangelism Fellowship.
