SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Grace College’s women’s golf team traveled west to compete in the Westminster Wasatch Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Lancers took seventh out of 12 teams in the three-day tournament at Glenmoor Golf Club in Utah. The tournament included 10 NCAA Div. II schools and 67 total golfers.

Grace carded a 318 on the opening day of the tournament, placing the squad just five strokes out of the top five.

The Lady Lancers turned in a 328 on Monday before bouncing back with an impressive 305 in the final round. Grace’s 305 was the fourth-lowest total of the final round.

The team’s tournament total of 952 broke the program record for lowest score across a 54-hole tournament, beating the previous record of 960 set in 2019.

Summer Stillson led Grace for the three-round tournament. She improved with every round, beginning with an 84, then dropping to an 81 in the second round. Her final round of 1-under 71 tied for the second-lowest round in program history. It was also the lowest round of all golfers in the field on Tuesday.

Brette Hanavan and Grace May finished within two strokes of Stillson. Hanavan was Grace’s most consistent golfer during the tourney, producing a scorecard of 78-81-78 (237). May’s total of 238 was highlighted by a first-round 75.

Carolyn Pacocha was not far behind the crew (243) as she capped off her week with a third-round 78. Lucy Young also improved in every round for her 250, including a third-round 78 as well.

The Lady Lancers’ next scheduled match is the Saints Classic at Warren Golf Course on Oct. 3-4. Grace’s “B” team will also be in action on Friday at the Cleary Invitational.
