During the overnight hours Saturday leading into Sunday, 19 bulldogs were stolen from a Nappanee dog breeder’s barn.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Chris Francis said the dogs were stolen from 8563 W. CR 1100N, Nappanee, and included 12 English bulldogs that were 7 weeks old; six French bulldogs that were 3 months old; and one 2-year-old French bulldog.

The dogs were valued at $3,500 each, making the heist valued at $66,500.

Homer L. Slabaugh is the breeder, who reported them stolen Sunday morning after he found them missing from his outbuilding, a detached barn where the dogs were kept.

Francis said the dogs are all micro-chipped, but police have no leads.

Anyone with information can contact KCSO.
