 The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
• 8:19 a.m. Wednesday – Christopher John Cook, 31, of 1210 Hilltop Ave., Warsaw, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $700.
• 10:49 a.m. Wednesday – Orville Eugene Erhart III, 42, Monterrey, arrested for check deception and failure to appear. Bond: $1,100.
• 11:43 a.m. Wednesday – Steven S. Lattea, 44, of 3559 S. Palestine Lane, Warsaw, arrested for dealing meth. No bond set.
• 2:31 p.m. Wednesday – Jacob Thomas Crisler, 20, Farmland, arrested for sexual battery. Bond: $506.
• 5:16 p.m. Wednesday – Andrew Ryan Glover, 32, of 513 N. Tucker St., Mentone, arrested for parole violation. No bond set.
• 11:37 p.m. Wednesday – Megan Leigh Slone, 26, of 425 Wexford Place, Warsaw, arrested for dealing counterfeit substance and failure to appear. Bond: $10,250.
• 11:50 p.m. Wednesday – Cody Allen Hale, 27, of 425 Wexford Place, Warsaw, arrested for dealing narcotics. Bond: $10,250.
• 12:04 a.m. today – Bradley R. Searfross, 36, of 325 E. Madison St., North Webster, arrested on a warrant in a civil matter. Bond: $3,800.

• 3:16 a.m. Wednesday – South Harkless Drive, Syracuse. Vehicle hit deer. Driver: Gary A. Clark, 38, North Aspen Drive, Warsaw. Damages: $5,000 to $10,000. Syracuse Police Department investigated.
• 7:30 a.m. Wednesday – Intersection of South County Farm Road and East CR 600S, Warsaw. Vehicle hit deer. Driver: Michael A. Atchison, 54, East Center Street, Warsaw. Damages: $5,000 to $10,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
• 7:55 p.m. Wednesday – South Ind. 25, Warsaw. Vehicle hit deer. Driver: Ronald E. Severns, 75, West Shilling Road, Mentone. Damages: $1,000 to $2,500. KCSD.
• 9:09 p.m. Wednesday – East Pierceton Road, Winona Lake. Vehicle hit deer. Driver: Shawna M. Davenport, 45, Pheasant Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Damages: $1,000 to $2,500. KCSD.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
