Man Wanted in Three States for Fraud Arrested in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE – A man wanted for fraud in three states and locally was arrested Thursday afternoon at a Fort Wayne business.
Christopher B. Clapp, 30, last recorded address of 4105 Kuder Lane in Warsaw, was arrested for felony fraud charges.
Warsaw Police detectives received a tip from a Fort Wayne business after the suspect submitted an application for employment.
An employee at that business saw the attempt to locate Clapp in the news and contacted Warsaw police.
Fort Wayne-based Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive officers responded to the address that Clapp listed on his application, which turned out to be the Travel Inn in Fort Wayne.
After a short period of surveillance, they located Clapp and took him into custody without incident.
On May 10, a victim called Warsaw Police to report three credit cards stolen. An investigation indicated that Clapp was responsible for the theft and use of the credit cards. Over $515 in cash and cigarettes was obtained before the cards were canceled.
For a week prior to the thefts, the suspect had been renting a room from the victim.
 Two felony fraud warrants were issued for the arrest of Clapp. Clapp is also wanted on two felony warrants in Richland County, Ohio, for theft and aggravated assault, as well as Missoula County, Mont., for felony theft.[[In-content Ad]]
