Nappanee Man Killed In Crash In Elkhart Co.

ELKHART COUNTY - A Nappanee man was killed Saturday morning when the moped he was driving was hit by a truck.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash news release, at 7:08 a.m. Saturday a 2023 International box truck, driven by Anthony Arevalo, 25, South Bend, was traveling west on CR 46, east of CR 9.
Justin Sanders, 33, Nappanee, was traveling north on CR 9, south of CR 46, on a 2018 TAO moped. Sanders failed to yield the right of way and disregarded the stop sign, running directly in front of the box truck, which hit the moped.
Sanders died from internal injuries suffered in the impact, the release states.
The moped sustained damage all over, while the box truck had front-end and underside damage.
