ROCHESTER - Herman D. Holloway, 98, of 568 W. Ind. 25, Mentone, died at 5:30 a.m. Nov. 11, 2007, in Life Care Center, Rochester.

He was born Sept. 12, 1909, near Athens, one of 10 children of Charles and Rettie Bryant Holloway. On Sept. 23, 1940, in Mentone, he married Marie Fisk, who died in 1991.

Living in the Talma community most of his life, he worked for the Indiana State Highway Dept., Kosciusko County District. He attended Talma Christian Church. He was a coon hunter, a trapper and liked to fish.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia (and spouse Jim) Vigar, Madera, Calif.; two sons, Paul (and spouse Sharon) Holloway, Rochester, and Mike (and spouse Barbara) Holloway, Mentone; grandchildren, Thomas P. (and spouse Christa) Holloway, Jason (and spouse Tracy) Holloway, Teresa (and spouse Guy) Fox, Mike Jr. (and spouse Tracy) Holloway, Mitchell (and spouse Michelle) Holloway, Mason Holloway, Ginger Caswell and Shelli (and spouse Dan) Freeman; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with the Rev. Rod Ruberg officiating. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
