ISP Investigating Serious Crash In Whitley County

February 2, 2025 at 3:19 p.m.


WHITLEY COUNTY - The Indiana State Police is investigating a personal injury vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. Friday in Whitley County.
The reported crash involved a wrong-way driver, driving west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 near CR 700E.
A white Nissan Rogue, driving west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30, hit a gray Kia Sedona, that was eastbound, head-on.
The Rogue was driven by Sandra McCoy, 66, Columbia City, and the gray Kia Sedona was driven by Kathleen Johnson, 39, Churubusco.
The crash resulted in serious injuries to both drivers who were transported to a local Fort Wayne hospital.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.
The Indiana State Police were assisted by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia City Police Department, Churubusco Police Department, Union Township Fire Department and Parkview EMS.
