It was brisk and windy, but the Echoes of the Past members and guests plowed through the weather to enjoy a day at the field owned by Dennis Boggs.
Tractors of all make and models took to the field at 9 a.m. Saturday to tackle the 84 acres of soil, according to a news release from Echoes of the Past. Four generations of the Boggs family made for a memorable day for both young and old.
Dale Boggs, the eldest family member at 95 years old, made a round with a tractor and plow. Weather kept him from participating too much, but he truly enjoyed watching the field turned by the various types of implements. The youngest Boggs member rode along with his grandpa in an International and smiled from ear to ear. The oldest club member to participate, Jack McDonald, made his rounds on a Ford tractor.
The next event for the club will be participating in the Leesburg Memorial Day parade followed by the tractor show at the Mentone Egg Festival June 6. For more information on club activities or to become a member, visit the website at www.theechoesofthepast.com or send an email to [email protected]. The club can also be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/OldTractors.
