John G. “Jack” Hamilton, DDS, MSD, 72, Syracuse, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 31, 2016, at Center for Hospice Care House, Elkhart.  He was born June 29, 1944, in Fort Wayne, to Gerald J. and Lois M. Rondot Hamilton. On Aug. 28, 1965, in Fort Wayne, he was married to Diana K. Dellinger, who survives in Syracuse.

Grace’s Offensive Barrage Wears Down St. Francis In 2-0 Lancer Win

An unrelenting offense attack by Grace’s men’s soccer team resulted in a 2-0 win over St. Francis on Saturday. Both goals from the Lancers (7-4-2, 2-3 Crossroads League) were scored in the second half, snapping a three-match losing streak. Grace dominated possession in the minutes after kickoff. The hosts built up a patient attack through the middle, but a pass to Mitchell Zeilenga was intercepted by the Cougars’ goalkeeper at the last moment.

Phillip Edward “Phil” Hartley, 83, Syracuse, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Oct. 8, 2016, at his home. He was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Muncie, to Harry and Velma Morgan Hartley. He was married to Dixie Zaph, who preceded him in 1977. On Sept. 3, 1978, in Warsaw, he married Janet S. Nottingham Mesaros, who survives in Syracuse.

Robert K. “Bob” Loper,

Robert K. “Bob” Loper, 84, Lucerne, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 8, 2016, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Born Aug. 31, 1932, in Gary, he was the son of Robert C. and Mildred King Loper. On Dec. 22, 1956, in Chesterton, he married Judith Robinson, who preceded in death June 30, 2008.
