NORTH WEBSTER – Laurajene Plymale, 88, North Webster, passed away at 8:42 a.m. Dec. 1, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Muncie, to Harry J. and Marie Gray Haines. She graduated in 1947 from Muncie Central High School in Muncie, and on July 4, 1947, in Muncie, she married Octavian Conwell “O. C.” Plymale, who preceded her in 2015.
Jo Anne Disbro, 76, Winona Lake, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Dec. 3, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 47 years. She and her husband, Al, were the first houseparents for Riverwood Ranch. She worked as an accountant for Herald Bookstore and was the controller at WRSW radio station for a number of years. She was chief financial officer for Multi-Township Emergency Medical Services, Warsaw, for over 10 years.
When it was time for Wawasee High School junior Aubrey Kuhn to choose a service project for the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy, her decision had personal implications.
Dorothy L. Coe, 90, North Manchester, died at 9:48 a.m. Dec. 5, 2016, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born March 27, 1926, in Custer, Mich., to Dewey and Della Flora Reene. She was a hostess at Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, North Manchester. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Lapeyrolerie, Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a son, William D. McGruther, in 2016; two brothers, Leroy Reene and Earl Reene; and a sister, Bertha Raymond.
Terry John Klondaris, 91, Warsaw, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 4, 2016. He was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Warsaw, to John and Helen Bechakas Klondaris. On Sept. 12, 1948, he was married to Martha Cox, who survives in Warsaw.
HUNTINGTON – Struggling to find their shooting touch from the field Saturday night, the Class 4A No. 5 Warsaw Tigers beat Huntington North at the free throw line.
Warsaw’s Lady Tigers trailed 8-1 after the first quarter, but held Portage to three field goals over the last three quarters and claim a 37-24 road victory in a non-conference basketball game Saturday.
