- Clinton Lies - Affairs Are Wrong - Clinton Scandals - Wants Owen's Back Clinton Lies Editor, Times-Union: If I only read, listened and viewed the national media, I would come to believe that Bill Clinton has made a few public and private mistakes to blight his record as an astute government leader through the years.Fortunately, I learned long ago that many things read, heard and seen require more substantive investigation in arriving at the truth.Bill Clinton's reign has cost us all a lot of money because of his refusal to tell the truth up front, for he knows the truth would have kept him from the position of power he holds today.

Plymouth Wallops Wawasee

Syracuse -ÊThe Wawasee Warriors came into Friday's football game with state- ranked Plymouth short-handed. The Warriors were missing their leading rusher, Logan Lees, who had rushed 85 times for 367 yards this season. His presence was sorely missed as the Rockies stuffed the run and silenced the Wawasee crowd on senior night with a 48-19 drubbing of the home team. The action started early when Plymouth kick returner and running back Andy Barker returned the opening kickoff to the Wawasee 45-yard line, but the Rockies were then pushed back to their own 15 when they were called on a clipping penalty. Unnerved by the penalty, Plymouth marched down field. On a first and 10 from their own 31-yard line, Barker mimicked his kick return and barrelled 32 yards before being corralled by the Warrior secondary.

Barrett Finds His Form

NORTH MANCHESTER - If Manchester All-State running back candidate David Barrett had a subpar game last week against Rochester gaining only 80 yards, then he certainly made up for it Friday night. Barrett ran the ball 40 times, racking up 287 yards and four touchdowns along the way as he helped his Squires beat rival Southwood 42-28.The win also meant that Manchester sits alone atop the TRC standings with just two games remaining. Both teams came into the contest with undefeated records in the conference. And it looked early on as though Southwood would be in first place at the end of the night After Squire fullback Greg Groombridge put his team ahead 7-0 late in the first quarter, Southwood stormed back with 14 unanswered points. The Knights' D.J.Marshall returned the Manchester kickoff 78 yards to tie the score up at 7-7.Manchester coach Al Bailey was concerned about the effect the kickoff return would have on his team.

Warsaw Wins NLC Title In Convincing Way

The 2000 Warsaw football team continued to etch its place in school history Friday night with a 41-13 win over Concord at Fisher Field. Not only did Kris Hueber shatter the single-season tackle record with 7:24 left in the second quarter, the Tigers also won the Northern Lakes Conference for the second year in a row.It is the first time in history that Warsaw has won back-to-back NLC titles. Last year the Tigers shared the NLC title with NorthWood, but a 29-28 overtime win over the Panthers last week put Warsaw's destiny in its own hands. And the Tigers fulfilled that destiny. The win over Concord left the Tigers the lone undefeated team in the NLC and gave them the outright title for the first time in 10 years. Although Concord was 2-6 overall heading into Friday night's game, the Minutemen came out like champions by starting the game with a bold on-side kickoff in an attempt to take the first possession away from Warsaw.

Redskins Survive Against Wawasee Warriors

Syracuse - Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams paired up in 1978 to record "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late." The song easily could have been the theme for Friday night's Northern Lakes Conference football game between the Goshen Redskins and the Wawasee Warriors. Goshen used "too much" offense early for Wawasee.Wawasee got "too little" offense in the second half and scored "too late" in falling to the Redskins 28-20. The Redskins raced to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter and never looked back in handing Wawasee its fifth conference loss against just one victory against Northridge. Goshen scored on their first three possessions. The Redskins took the opening kickoff and marched 70 yards culminated by running back Jay Parker's lone carry of the first half from six yards out, giving Goshen a 6-0 lead as the extra point was blocked.

Valley Stays Perfect In TRC Play, Wins Over Manchester

AKRON -ÊTippecanoe Valley coach Bill Patrick was pleased with his team's 65-46 win over Three Rivers Conference foe Manchester Friday night, but he was more pleased with the way his team played. "This is probably the best game we have played overall this year," said Patrick."We played well all 32 minutes tonight." The Vikings jumped out early and never looked back. After passing the ball for more than a full minute before taking a shot, Tippecanoe Valley got the ball to big man Shane Drudge for the first basket of the game. David Lash followed with two free throws, Stuart Jackson hit back-to-back baskets, and then Cory Vanlaningham aced a three-pointer to put the Vikings up 11-0 at the 4:20 mark. Manchester's first basket came at the 3:52 point when Nick Poe netted a three-pointer to put the Squires on the board. By the end of the first frame, Valley held a 16-7 lead.

Madison, Washington Win Elementary Championships

Hoosier Hysteria was in full swing at the elementary championship Tuesday evening at the Tiger Den. Madison won the boys title, while the girls title was grabbed by Washington. The parking lot was packed, and fans jammed the lower levels. The Madison boys completed an undefeated season with a fly-paper defense and a powerful scoring tandem in Michael Wienhorst and Michael Moore. In the tournament, the Cardinals made their way to the finals by defeating Washington in game one, 30-16.In the next game, Madison defeated Claypool 42-39.Then Silver Lake fell to the Cardinals by a 38-23 score. Eisenhower showed the strength of a solid basketball program in that both the girls team and the boys team appeared in the finals.Ê However, the championship was a "father/daughter sweep" for coach Jerry Ryman of Madison and his daughter, Nicole Ryman, who coached the girls' champs of Washington.

W's Still Elusive For Wawasee

At 0-16, the Warrior boys basketball team was starving for its first win against NLC foe NorthWood, but in the end, the Wawasee squad would leave the gym hungry once again as the Panthers were victorious 63-60. The Panthers started the game with a spark as Nic Bradley netted a three-pointer to give NorthWood the first lead of the game, but Wawasee came back to take a 4-2 lead with 6:38 left in the first. That would be the last time Wawasee would hold the lead as NorthWood scored two straight baskets to take the lead once again. At one point, NorthWood held a 15-8 lead, but the Warriors battled back in the final two minutes of the quarter to get within four, 19-15, going into the second. The second frame started the same way the first ended, with NorthWood holding a small advantage and Wawasee fighting to take the lead.
