Betty Jane Finney,

SYRACUSE – Betty Jane Finney, 91, Syracuse, passed away at 5:03 a.m. Jan. 26, 2017 at Goshen Hospital. She was born July 30, 1925, in Huntington, to Earl F. and Edna Shivley Garretson. On June 23, 1946, in Huntington, she married Gail E. Finney, who preceded her on July 23, 1989. She graduated in 1943 from Huntington High School and was a World War II Navy veteran. 

Farrell “Butch” Eugene Stout

Farrell “Butch” Eugene Stout, 75, Warsaw, died Feb. 19, 2017, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center. He was born March 17, 1941 in Yorktown, to Farrell and Katherine Warner Stout. On March 16, 1962, in Anderson, he married Myrna Richman. He was retired from General Motors where he worked for more than 30 years.

Francis John “Jack” Fitzwilliam

Francis John “Jack” Fitzwilliam, Warsaw, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Feb. 19, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 87. He was born June 19, 1929, in Tengyueh, China, to missionary parents Francis Julius Fitzwilliam and Jennie Eliza Kingston Fitzwilliam. On March 24, 1951, in Wheaton, Ill., he was married to Alice Ruth Larson, who survives in Warsaw.

Farrell Stout

Farrell “Butch” Eugene Stout, 75, Warsaw, died Feb. 19, 2017, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center. He was born March 17, 1941 in Yorktown, to Farrell and Katherine Warner Stout. On March 16, 1962, in Anderson, he married Myrna Richman. He was retired from General Motors where he worked for more than 30 years. He spent most of his life in Yorktown and Delaware County before moving to Warsaw in 2011. He enjoyed fishing and hunting mushrooms. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Muncie, and was a AWANA leader for more than 20 years. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Margaret Miller

JEFFERSON, Ga. – Margaret Ring Miller, 94, a native of Pierceton, died Feb. 17, 2017, in a nursing home at Griffin, Ga. She was born in Pierceton on April 10, 1922, the daughter of Scott P. and Rosa V. Goodrich Ring. She graduated from Pierceton High School in 1940. After moving from Indiana, she lived in Jefferson and Milner, Ga., and volunteered with the Jackson County Senior Citizens Center for 18 years after her retirement. She was a member of the Galilee Christian Church, Jefferson.

Arthur Wilmoth

DENVER, Ind. – Arthur Wayne Wilmoth, 80, North Manchester, a poet and author of several books (unpublished), passed away Feb. 16, 2017, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

Warsaw Incident Proves Fatal For South Bend Man

A South Bend man died after a Winona Lake man allegedly drove over him multiple times with his car following an alleged drug deal gone bad. Police responded to a report of a car hitting a pedestrian at 9:30 p.m. Friday  on North Cook Street, Warsaw, Friday night.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Billy E. Kline, 78, died at 3:38 p.m. Feb. 17, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born March 18, 1938, in Wabash, to Everett and Grace Maidford Kline. He was a retired foreman for the Wabash County Highway Department. He attended Silver Creek Church of God, Silver Lake.
