AKRON - Freda N. Ault, 93, of 2307 Everett Drive, Crawfordsville, and formerly of the Akron and Rochester areas, died at 12:20 p.m. Aug. 23, 2010, in Crawfordsville.
10 Years AgoFifth District Warsaw City Councilman Bill Rhoades and his wife, Diana, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary March 28, by renewing their vows in council chambers. Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins officiated. "Bill thought it would be neat," the "new" bride said, "to renew our vows in city hall and have Ernie perform the ceremony." Children and grandchildren attended the celebration with one youngster commandeering grandpa's council seat and receiving sage advice from the first-term councilman.25 Years AgoThree-year-olds Lauren Wilson and Sara Banghart each had approximately 85 hops during a two-minute period during the Bunny Hop conducted at Warsaw Child Care Center. The event lasted almost two hours and resulted in 18,325 hops. This is the third year the Center has sponsored a Hop-A-Thon to help wipe out Muscular Dystrophy. Pledges are collected for a given amount of money per hop in the two minutes. Pat Barnard was the coordinator and Sue Anders was the time keeper. Jean DeVries is director of Child Care Center, which is a United Way Agency.50 Years AgoMrs. Robert Chinworth, Mrs. Forrest Bouse, Mrs. Jack Garman and Mrs. Eugene Engle, all of Warsaw, returned recently from Colorado Springs, Colo., where they attended retirement ceremonies for Captain John Chinworth, who had been in the Army 21 years and will soon move to Warsaw with his family. SYRACUSE – Charles “Chuck” Randall Eby, 55, Kimmell, and formerly of Syracuse, passed away Jan. 5, 2015, at his residence after a long battle with his health.
