Warsaw Places Second At NLC Tennis Championships

Plymouth finished first with 51 points to the Tigers 47.Concord finised third with 40 points while Wawasee finished seventh with seven points. The Warriors didn't have anyone advance to the championship round. Ben Voorhorst won the No.3 singles championship with an easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Concord's Neal Tallman. Deon Shafer and Jason Ummel continued their winning ways for Warsaw with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Plymouth No.2 doubles squad to capture the Tigers second championship of the day. Jason Sells nearly made it three forciing the Pilgrims' Nick Neidlinger to a third-set tiebreak before falling 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4). The Tigers close out the regular season at Mishawka Marian today at 4:30 p.m.before sectional play begins Thursday at Warsaw.
